30 things you vow to do this summer.
- Help Pat pack bags for the kids in preparation for their weekend away…from me.
- Let Pat cook dinner for the family.
- Wave goodbye when Pat leaves to buy me a blizzard at Dairy Queen while watching movies on a Friday night.
- Pack popcorn for Pat and the kids as they get ready to go to a drive in movie together.
- Watch Pat mow the lawn.
- Drink lemonade that Pat made for me.
- Spend Pat’s money at the mall.
- Thank Pat for encouraging me to spend as much time as possible on the computer.
- Compliment Pat on a delicious cake that he made just for me.
- Act surprised when Pat presents me with diamonds on my half birthday.
- Agree to accompany Pat on a mini weekend vacation sans kids.
- Hand Pat a handkerchief to wipe his brow after building me a cabana in the backyard.
- Watch Pat dance and sing to the tune of “She’s Like The Wind” after dedicating the song to me.
- Act surprised when Pat invites my closest friends over for drinks and girl talk.
- Accept Pat’s apology when he says sorry for not telling me I’m pretty often enough.
- Take a picture of Pat washing our cars.
- Write a blog post about how much Pat loves me.
- Drink a margarita while thinking of Pat.
- Let Pat drive me to the mall.
- Taste the soup that Pat prepares me from scratch.
- Let Pat wipe my chin after I spit his disgusting soup across the room.
- Watch Glee while Pat paints my nails.
- Read US Weekly while Pat potty trains Kainoa.
- Listen to how Pat feels unworthy of my love.
- High five Pat when he brings home the complete dvd series of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
- Eat pizza while Pat cleans dirty bathrooms.
- Nod in agreement with Pat when he compares me to the likes of Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta Jones.
- Read a newspaper while sipping the coffee Pat made me…and by “newspaper” I mean “my own blog”.
- Serenade Pat while he cleans out the garage.
- Slip into a bath Pat drew for me with and finish a favorite book.
Erin says
Wait is that your summer list or your honey do list? HAHA
Sooo does all that mean you’ll be at Bloggy Boot Camp in SF??? =)
Jen C. says
Haha, love your Pat-filled summer list :) It does sound more like Pat’s to-do list! What a great hubby you’ve got there! Don’t strain yourself too much this summer!
Rachel @ Mommy Needs a Vacation says
You crack me up! I think I need to show Josh your list and tell him that I have planned summer all out. He will be so excited that I have everything figured out! No worrying about plans. And I 2nd Erin’s comment- SF Bloggy Boot Camp??? Puuurrdy please?
Mama Kat says
No SF boot camp for me…why do you guys just wait and come to Seattle. :)
Kisha Floren says
Ooooohhh, good call on combining the two prompts! However, if I clean out my garage, will you come serenade me?
Helen says
Impressive. I hope that Pat sees things the same way. :-)
June Freaking Cleaver says
My husband has a 31st entry for you: Beg Pat to come back after he reads this list.
Men, they’re so sensitive!
Mama Kat says
I told Pat about my list and he said some similar things about serving me with divorce papers and taking full custody of the kids.
I don’t think he was joking.
;)
Dominique says
That’s a really long list for Pat to accomplish :P
AngieB says
After reading your list I totally need to redo mine. I was in the wrong mindset, but thankfully you have put me on the right track again!
BJ_Mama says
You truly are a Wife to mold ourselves after….oh how I wish I could be more like you.
Karo says
Ha! I’m sure Pat’s just itchin’ to get started on your list. ;)
cardiogirl says
What a fun prompt! I didn’t know the rules beforehand so I jumped the gun and posted yesterday. Now I know for next time.
Before I was a mom I was really jonesin’ for a hysterectomy; I was sure I’d never
want tobe a mom. Karma is at work here.I'm a full-time mummy says
Oh I love #27! :D
Jen says
Well I am totally digging the list, it also sounds like an ultimate honey do list. I hope all your summer dreams come true.
Sarah M. says
This is stellar. I am sure that Pat will get right on those things. I especially am subscribing to the one where you eat pizza while he potty trains your son. I am all about blogging while my husband changes poopy diapers and puts the kids to bed. Last night, he finally revolted and made ME do all those things. But I cried. He felt guilty. And all is right with the world again.
Katina says
Love all the stuff you are going to watch Pat do! Especially when you said drink a margarita while thinking of Pat!!!! My kind of girl!
Lolli says
Ha! That list is hilarious. I especially like the one about Pat wiping the soup off your chin. :)
Los says
Sounds like Pat has a heckuva summer lined up ….
Mama Kat says
He’s going to be thrilled about it!
cara mamma says
I hope you will write about Pat’s progress in helping you fulfill these vows! :) Love it!
parenting BY dummies says
Pat is so very lucky to have you. I hope he knows that. ‘Cause if there were no Pat and no Dumb Dad and I liked girls and you did too we’d probably be married by now. Pat has so much to be happy for.
Mama Kat says
Amazing how fate stepped in the way it did and made our lives like this instead of matching us together the way it could have (should have?) been.
Aging Mommy says
Brilliant! I too have a dream very similar to yours :-)
But for now it’s back to reality, potty training and everything else!
Steph says
Love your list. I had a hard time coming up with mine.
Diane says
too funny! I so want to see the pic from number 16.
Sorta Southern Single Mom says
See, now I was afraid if I listed 30 things then I’d actually have to DO them! :) Yours are appealing, but I’d need to rent a husband! :)
Funkidivagirl says
Um, that sounds like the Ultimate Honey-Do List to me with a little summer thrown in. And a good one too.
Amanda says
I especially love the Reading US Weekly while Pat potty trains one of your children….classic!!!
Tiffany says
Love your list! Looks like your list is a honey do/ summer 30! Love it! I liked both so much I did both too, but separately. Maybe Pat will do a few for you. I like painting your nails. I thought about my hubby doing that.
Joy says
My husband could learn a thing or two from Pat! It sounds like Pat has a lot to live up to this summer.
Rebecca says
Wow! Can I live in your world for a little while?? How in the world did you think of “She’s Like The Wind?” Patrick Swayze…RIP!
Mama Kat says
Because when Pat and I first started dating I secretly wanted him to dedicate that song to me. Because I’m humble like that. When years later I confessed my desire for him to dedicate it to me he. died. laughing. So much for Mr. Romantic.
Rebekah @ mom-in-a-million says
Excellent plan! I am in full support of all of those vows!
Jenners says
Genius! Pure genius! I think I shall coy this and remove “Pat” and replace it with “Mr. Jenners.” Though then he’ll wonder why he is potty training some kid named Kainoa.
Mama Kat says
I fully support the idea of Mr. Jenners potty training my son. Kainioa won’t think that’s strange at all.
Jennifer says
Wow, Pat is totally awesome. Could you get him to call David and make some suggestions?
B says
Love it! I’d like to add a few of those to my summer list…only I’ll swap out my husband’s name for Pat.
kasey says
Too funny! I especially support the idea of diamonds for your half birthday… I may have to try that one myself!
Dawna says
I am glad that we read the same “newspaper” yet I was surprised that Pat did not hand-dip you any chocolates to go along with a long massage that he will provide willingly. Maybe there needs to be 31 items on your list. :) he he he.
Mama Kat says
Love that!
Melissa (@adventuroo) says
Run, Pat, run!
Raine says
Wow! That sounds like a grand summer! What a guy, that Pat is!
Kim says
IT was hard to come up with 30 things – phew! I doubt I’ll stick to them all but it was a fun exercise just the same. Got me thinking! Love your prompts :)
Mama Kat says
I know!! I literally got to 25 and considered ending it there. :)
Natalie says
Now I want to do another post that includes hubby in all 30 things! Doing stuff I don’t want to do!
Amy O says
Long time stalker first time commenter, BLAHAHAHA. Literally read 3 times and still laughing, you are so cleaver.funny, my hero and oh yeah pretty too.
Hope Pat has lots of vacay time to use so he can help you complete your vows.
Mama Kat says
Thanks for commenting! After reading my list, it looks like Pat is going to need some encouragement. He’s suddenly not as excited for this summer as I am. :)
S Club Mama says
That Pat – what a guy! :D
Adrienne says
Too funny! Your blog always makes me LOL! Love it! Now I’m mad I have real list of things to do, and you have a fantasy list. That’s not fair, but I guess you’re the teacher…LOL :) Maybe I will fantasize about how I’m going to get mine list done.
Poor Pat! Thanks for the laugh!
Adrienne says
oops “my” list. I hate typos, and they haunt me…
Mama Kat says
I started a real list and got to about number 3 before giving up. Making Pat a list was such a better use of my time.
Amy says
Oh I love this list. I started to do this prompt and decided I just wasn’t up for committing to 30 things. I prefer your take on it way more than mine. Although if I were to switch Pat to Scott, I don’t think he’d enjoy it as much as I enjoyed reading yours.
PS – thanks for stopping by last week :)
Dawn says
Love the prompts and your blog! Check out The Way I See Things for two new awards for you :-)

http://gasstationcappuccino.blogspot.com/?zx=3b8ebb08d7f37e99
Dianna says
Hmm —- I’m confused. Is this a Summer to Do list, merged with a honey do list? Or Ultimate Fantasy List? Or Soundtrack, due to the ‘She’s like the Wind’ mention?
Either way, hysterical!
Thanks for the awesome prompts!
Mama Kat says
C.) All of the above. :)
Bethany says

cathy says
i’m a workshop virgin – please be kind!

Your list is much more impressive than mine though.
:)
Corine Complicated Mama says
Im totally copy and pasting this list, replacing Pat’s name with my husbands name and slipping it under his pillow— you know just incase he wants to see my ultimate wish list .. though Id settle for just the pizza and watching him clean the bathroom lol
Jen E @ mommablogsalot says
