Happy New Year…Please Don’t Hurt Me
Happy New Year!
…I think…
You know when you’re playing Sonic the Hedgehog and you make it to the Spring Yard Zone and you’re all “Weeee this is fun!” and you bounce around the screen happily figuring the puzzle out?
And then you finally pass the level and move on to the next Zone and find yourself in the Labyrinth? And you can’t figure the freaking level out because you’re WAY too stressed about finding air bubbles before time runs out and you drown to death? And time is constantly reminding you it’s about to run out because the music gets frantic and your heart starts beating and you can’t hit the buttons fast enough?
That’s EXACTLY how I feel about moving into 2012. The 2011 “Spring Zone” has been more or less trauma free, so why not just stay awhile longer? What if 2012 brings the Labyrinth!?!
I hate the Labyrinth.
In my first post of 2011 I said, “I feel like 2011 is going to be a year of less pressure and more fun and less Twinkies and more Captain Crunch Berries and less being paranoid about someone finding my children online and more actually selling my children online and well…just better.”
And it WAS better. Which is exactly why I’d rather just hold off on 2012 if that’s at all possible.
But it’s not.
So to 2012 I say…please don’t hurt me. Or anyone within my 7 degrees of separation. I don’t think that’s asking too much.
Here’s to many nights of blogging and great reality TV watching and less Captain Crunch Berries because you can only take so much of those and more coffee and less worrying and more just living in the moment and getting things done and maybe a walk now and again…and to no more references to Sonic the Hedgehog ever.
Happy New Year!
Bring it ON…I think…
Here’s how I feel about Resolutions:
