I don’t know what happened that made Kainoa stop wanting to sleep in his own room, but it might have something to do with the ghost videos he was watching on YouTube. Naturally, I didn’t realize he was watching them until he was a couple videos in. And normally I wouldn’t think ghost videos are that big of a deal, but I could tell he was believing them and that’s when things get creepy.
So he’s been begging to sleep in the small loft area outside of his bedroom. I was all, “I don’t think so Kainoa, the girls will wake you too early when they get ready for school at 6am.”
And he was all, “Pleasssse!”
And I was all, “You’re going to have a hard time falling asleep because you will be able to hear me watching TV downstairs.”
And he was all, “Please mom!!”
And I was all, “Sigh…I guess we can try it once and see how well it goes.”
And then we all went to bed.
At 2am Laina was throwing up in the bathroom. I hopped up to help her and she was in bad shape. She continued to throw up all. night. long.
I heard her at 2:30. 2:45. 3:00.
By 3:30 she was begging for medicine that I had to refuse on account of the fact that I knew she was just going to throw it up.
I heard her at 3:45. 4:00. 4:15
I listened to her continue this non-stop cycle of throwing up and crying all the way until 6am when I woke Maile for school. I was exhausted and worried and clutching my own stomach.
Was I sick too or just nauseous from spending the night listening to and smelling vomit?
As I made my way downstairs Kainoa’s loud yell-whisper pierced the dark, “MOM???”
And I was all, “What???”
And he was all, “I think that went well!”
I threw up an hour later.

Well for him it did!
Hope you all feel better soon. We had a stomach bug sweep through here luckily (knock on wood) I have somehow managed to escape unscathed…so far.
Mama Kat says
Yeah exactly. He had no clue how much the rest of us suffered that night. Hahaha!
John Holton says
So he’s okay, but everyone else isn’t? Funny how it works that way sometime.
Mama Kat says
Yes, he walked away unscathed this time and so did one of my daughters. Thank goodness!
