I’m not feeling very passionate about any of my writing prompts today so I think I’ll answer each of them!
1. Tell us about a memorable Mother’s Day.
My memorable Mother’s Day was this past Mother’s Day. It was the first Mother’s Day ever that I spent in another state for a volleyball tournament. My husband let me sleep in while he took the girls to their gyms and when he returned to pick me up, he had coffee with him. I can’t think of a better way to start my day!
2. Write about the most recent movie you saw in the theater.
I took Maile to see A Quiet Place in the theater and I’m not a scary movie kinda gal. I’m a Disney Princes kinda gal. I don’t know what was more terrifying, the idea that a monster could spring out of anywhere and demolish you or the look of terror on the whispering faces throughout the entire movie. Did these people not cough? What about flushing a toilet? How did they manage to survive at all, especially with kids?
3. You have $5,0000 that MUST be spent on your home. How would you spend it?
Did I really say you have 50 THOUSAND dollars to spent on your home and to write a blog post about it? I believe I meant to say 5 thousand dollars. I mean with 50 Thousand dollars I may as well add on another layer to our home. We don’t have much of a backyard so I’m thinking some sort of rooftop pool oasis needs to happen.
I’m at the point right now with my house where I just want every last bit of it repainted, repaired and remodeled. Since I don’t even know where to begin and don’t have the money to spend, I just ignore the problem areas altogether.
4. Write a blog post the ends with the sentence: Maybe next time!
I’ll do my best.
5. Summer is coming! What are you most looking forward to?
Every time the kids are on break I most look forward to our summer excursions. Whether that be a camping trip or a long awaited trip to see family in Hawaii, I always look forward to our getaways. I also look forward to calmer mornings. I don’t need to pop up before everyone else and rush kids out the door. In exchange for that morning moment of bliss, however, I do need to come up with afternoon activities or suffer the repercussions of children afflicted with Boredom. If I were wise I would have signed them up for summer camps and sports teams.
Maybe next time.

Well, this is brilliant. Not feeling it for any of the prompts? Do ’em all!!
I saw “A Quiet Place” and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I never even considered toilet flushing! What DID they do?
A friend of mine is fretting over the summer boredom soon to hit her daughter. We noted that, some church, at any given week, is having vacation bible school. You could just hit a bunch and have the most devout children on the planet!

I guess it’s frowned upon to order your kids out of the house at 9 AM, telling them not to come home until dinner, like my mother used to do. I suppose signing them up for summer camp and other activities is pretty close to the same thing.
We don’t even do movies in the theater anymore. The chairs are too low for me to get out of.
If I had 50 grand to spend on the house, I’d gut it and redo everything. 5 grand and I’d start with the kitchen and go from there. Our house is around 40 years old and neither we nor the previous owners have done much to it.
By the way, I used my prompt to invite everyone I know to join us here. I figured you wouldn’t mind.

$50,000 would be okay with me. I may take a vacay to “improve” my house by not having me in it messing it up!
