1. Top 10 reasons why you are glad you are done with school.
Look, I loved school to a degree. My best friends were at school and I had some great teachers, but the whole “school” part of it was soooooo boring. Here are 10 reasons why I am glad I am done with school:
1. I don’t have to force myself to stay awake anymore.
2. I no longer need to feel frantic when I’m unprepared.
3. I don’t have to pretend to know what I’m talking about.
4. Homework is a thing of the past!
5. Forgetting I had homework is a thing of the past!
6. Goodbye cram sessions!
7. I don’t have to see people I don’t like.
8. No more testing.
9. NO MORE MATH!
10. I don’t dread Sunday nights.
And I’ll never go back!

I wanted to be a forever student at one time, but I am thankful to leave the stress behind. I still have nightmares about forgetting about a test, or not showing up for an entire college course, or having no time to complete an assignment. School was fun and horrible.

OMG, I thought I was the only one who STILL had nightmares about not showing up for an entire course (despite the fact that I never did that in college myself).

LOL! I truly did LOVE school, but your #1 is SO me! In high school, the last day of Trigonometry class my teacher brought me a pillow because I’d fallen asleep in class nearly every day! In my defense, it WAS first period, and I DID keep a solid A in the class, but no teacher can make math exciting.
Worse, when I was in college most of the classrooms had terraced seating and dim lighting. When I would fall asleep and drop my pen it would loudly bounce down several levels. Since I was a nursing major I was SURE I had narcolepsy – until I graduated :)

I’ve been the mom that loved summer and dreaded September. I didn’t like school as a student, and I didn’t like school as a mom!

I’m glad I’m not actually IN school but some days I feel like I am because OH MY FREAKING GOD the math homework!
I have a pretty smart kid but he was reduced to tears last night – first full week of school – because he didn’t understand the math homework. He knew how to DO it, but the wording of the question was so ambiguous he didn’t know how to answer it. I couldn’t help him.
So I googled it. And found ALL the dang answers for the exact problem online, so I could give him hints as to what the wording meant.
I foresee a bottle of Tito’s dedicated to 6th grade Pre-AP math.

And that’s why we homeschool. Although, the stress of bearing most of the responsibility for my child’s education is about to send me over the edge, but at least my daughter is less stressed.

I like the Guinea Pig picture best. And, heads up, the “Married to the Sound” Jazz link is a spam. I looked it over and it’s not related to any of the prompts. :)

I hadn’t even thought of #1, but I love that staying up late or having to wake early because of homework is done with too. I remember at the end of high school, when we were off for exam preparation, I had to set my alarm clock for a 3PM intake interview for the rehabilitation program I was entering after high school. That was fun.

Every single thing here. It’s funny to see the realization set in on the kids on Sunday nights though :)

Haha I loved this! I’m so glad to be done with school too. At one time I thought I might go back to pursue another degree but I think that ship has sailed. School for young kids also seems like it’s become ALOT more work than it used to be. I feel like kids today have so much more work and pressure on them from such an early age. I just read an article on ‘un-schooling’ from Outside Magazine which was really thought provoking. I think less formal schooling and more real life schooling may really benefit some students.
