3. Ask your child what their favorite part of Summer has been and then write about it.
I asked my kids what their favorite part of Summer has been so far and Maile said it was spending time with family. Laina said it was shopping for school supplies and Kainoa said it was nothing. By “nothing” I’m sure he means sitting around playing video games all day…literally doing nothing.
And I was like, wait what about
CAMPING!
And they were like, “oh yeah that too.”
And I was like, “what about Northwest Trek!”
And they were all, “the baby Caribou were so cute!”
And I was like, “celebrating the 4th of July!”
And they were all, “we got to stay up so late!”
And I was like, “what about that day at the lake?”
And they were all, “the floaties were fun!”
And I was all, “What about Wild Waves?”
And they were all, “the waterslides!”
And I was all, “How about the Dixie Chicks concert!?”
And they were all, “You went to that with your sisters and didn’t invite us!”
And I was all, “By far the best part right?
What has been your favorite part of summer?

While the kids and I should really be offended by this, it just struck my funny bone way too hard to be offensive. Well played, Kat, well played!

My favorite part of summer has been going to the drive-in with our family. My son and I had never been before!

It’s funny how a little reminding can spark a lot of fun summer memories. The best part is sharing it with family! Looks like you are creating some really great memories.
