A couple weeks ago I mentioned how thrilled I was for the school year to get going. Not only was I carrying a lot of guilt for not keeping them busier, but it has been impossible to keep my house clean with them home and I don’t get enough work done. Since I work from home I really battle this perception of the family that I’m not doing anything.
I know it looks like I’m just on the computer all day…okay I kind of really AM on the computer all day, but there are actual humans giving me tasks and deadlines and setting up calls. Now that school has started it’s just as amazing as I knew it would be.
My house is quiet!
All three of my kids are off learning incredible things and even my baby niece is busy at preschool three mornings a week. I had pushed for her to go to preschool when I knew she would be spending her days trapped with me all day and she loves it! Yesterday she practiced painting the letter H!!
While our last month of summer was productive and wonderful:
I am grabbing fall by the reigns…or the rains and basking in every peaceful, quiet moment of it!
Now how long do you give me before I am begging for summer again?
John Holton says
It’s “by the reins.” You’re welcome… 😜
I give it until December…
Abby says
Enjoy your peace and quiet! And it could be by the “rains”, considering your part of the country.
Just wait ’til the last one leaves for college. Our house is suddenly HUGE and QUIET and strangely CLEAN.
