1. The last time my heart melted was because…
The last time my heart melted might have been when we picked up our newest foster puppy Tessa. She’s 12 weeks old and darling.
Or it might have been when my little nieces baked me muffins:
(video here)
Or it might have been the moment the main character of the book I’m reading escaped after being held captive in an iron box for two months while being tortured by a demon queen and the main character’s “mate” found her after searching and he went back to kill the main character’s torturer. Swoon!
But it most definitely was not when Kainoa got made at me for refusing to spend ten dollars on a “starter pack” in a video game he was playing. Instead of accepting that sometimes the answer is no he shouted, “Well why don’t you just go to the store and buy a gun and shoot me in the face then!?!”
Definitely not heart melting material. I reminded him that I could go to jail for doing that so it certainly was not going to happen. Not to mention murder is like the least reasonable response to missing out on a ten dollar starter pack? I won’t pretend to understand that plan. Instead, I’ll just focus on the heart melty things.

Aw. Such sweet, heart-melty things, indeed! (Except for the game starter pack thing, but I remember those days well. Kids get very, very wound up over their games!
The last time my heart melted was when I was getting our pit bull to sit for a treat, and his tongue was out. But just a bit of it. He was so, so adorable.
Mama Kat says
Okay that pitbull tongue story is the cutest! Animals are a great way to distract us from pouty children. :)

That is a cute puppy.
I used to say stuff like that to my mother, too. I outgrew it eventually, and so will he.
Mama Kat says
You outgrew it and went on to be a hard-working member of society. That gives me hope!

OMG! That puppy is adorbs!
My 13 year old acts the same way. I also get mysterious charges on my card for Xbox…..

It’s a relief to know that my son isn’t the only of his kind…boy he can be obnoxious. lol! I miss his obsession with Thomas the Train.

Kat,
The last time my heart really melted was in October when I witnessed the birth of my granddaughter. It was everything I missed the first go around when DD#1 was born. I was totally not expecting the total heart gushing washout. The morning Angelina was born was bone chilling cold but my the warmth inside carried me all the way home. I barely noticed I was freezing and that I was a near zombie after being up for more than 24 hours straight. Thanks for hosting. Excellent heart melting moments here!
Mama Kat says
Oh that is the perfect heart melty moment! New grandbabies are the sweetest gifts. :)
Abby says
Oh, that puppy! Don’t know if I could foster puppies, I’d end up with a houseful.
Boys and video games are not typically heart melty! I remember my oldest (who now earns a nice living by, basically, computer-hacking) got banned from using school computers because he’d accessed an unauthorized website. I thought, “omg, did he hack pornhub from school?!”
Xbox. Figures.
Mama Kat says
The fact that she keeps having accidents and chews everything EXCEPT her chew toys sure makes me appreciate my grown Greyhound fosters. lol Also, so nice to hear your son grew up and is holding down a good job. That is one of my concerns with this kid of mine!
