3. Look back at the resolution you made last year at this time, how did you do?
I pulled up my resolutions from last year and saw that in that blog post I had actually added resolutions to an ongoing list of resolutions had not yes resolved:
2015:
- Drink more water – I don’t care about this anymore
- Eat salad every night – I don’t care about this anymore
- Cook more – Done!
- Clean more – Still terrible at this
- Upload YouTube videos 4 days a week – I don’t care about this anymore
- Lose 10 pounds – Let’s make it 20.
- Be nicer to my husband – lol! What on earth??
In 2016 I added:
- Walk your damn dogs. – Still terrible at this.
In 2017 I added:
- Pay off those credit cards – Done!
- Fix my house. We need new carpet, patched walls, updated paint…it’s time! – In progress!
And in 2018 also added:
- Do something active consistently. Seriously anything will do at this point. – lololol
- Punctuality. Show up when you say you will show up and meet your deadlines AHEAD OF TIME. –Still terrible at this.
- Also go to BED. Sleep more! –Still terrible at this.
So it COULD be better, it’s obvious to me that my New Year resolutions are still problems, but overall I think a tiny bit of progress has been made. Baby steps! While last year’s resolutions were pretty much a fail, I did take care of my 2017 resolutions! So I’m just a little slow going in accomplishing my goals, or I completely outgrow them. With that said, my updated 2019 Resolutions are…
- Make more money so that taking a family trip to another state does not require years of saving up.
- Be consistent about limits I set on time my kids spend on their electronics and video games.
- Make my kids clean more.
- Sleep more
- Stop eating junk
- As much as I love working on the computer all day, I need to move. my. bodyyyyy.
My track record might lead you to believe that I will have a difficult time accomplishing these goals, but I totally got this. What is your New Year’s Resolution??
The Prompts:
1. List 8 things you love about winter.
2. Write a blog post inspired by the word: merry
3. Look back at the resolution you made last year at this time, how did you do?
4. Netflix and chill? What are you binge-watching this winter?
5. List the top 7 things that bring you joy.
6. Write a blog post inspired by the word: fruitcake.

Kat,
Is that a reindeer? Where on earth did you go to see these critters? How amazing!
I stopped setting resolutions long ago because I can’t keep them, either. Instead, I just have loose goals and if I don’t get it done then I move it forward with the hopes of someday saying I did it!
Exercise isn’t a problem for me usually. Right now, I’m not doing it because of a leg injury and sore neck. Two unrelated things but hopefully I’ll get on track with that soon. I do however what to limit my time in front of the computer because sitting for long periods is not good for ya period. My real weakness is junk food. I want to do some serious scaling back in that department. It’s always the hardest to put it all behind me after the holidays because there’s so much of it around the house but I need to find the strength to say no to the evil stuff. Another thing I’d like to do this year is to do more creative writing and not be such a slacker when it comes to hop. I dropped the ball last year so it’s time to correct that problem.
Have a good day and a better new year! Thanks for hosting the fun

I need to move more too. I started doing aqua stretch in 2018 and would like to keep that going this year. I did a lot more physical things but apparently that wasn’t enough according to my jerk face rheumatologist who said that I needed to run. RUN. I have not run since I blew my back out and had metal inserted in my spine. Needless to say, I will not ever run out of spite and because she’s dumb.
MAking kids clean more sounds like a reasonable thing to me.
I’m adding that to my list too.
I’m still eating junk. It’s for science. Kidding. I just like candy.

Happy 2019! I’m right there with you on needing to move more. :)

I would like to write more. I would like to keep the house cleaner. I don’t have very high expectations there. I would like to not let the things I cannot control bug me. That is going to be a stretch! I like your ‘sleep more’ idea – that is always a good idea! I need to get my butt in bed earlier because sleeping in is not happening.
