1. Write about what true love is to you.
5. A story of love.
I dream cheated on my husband.
I can’t be responsible for what my brain is doing off the clock.
A man I loved took me by my hand and led me through a forest to an adorable cottage near a lake.
Birds chirping, water glistening, a small bridge that stretched over our own creek.
“It’s for us!” he said.
And I was all, “For us!?! Really!?!”
And it was lovely. Just the two of us in a forest forever!
I think my brain was on the verge of waking up because as I stared at this guy, logic started creeping in. I was having doubts
I couldn’t exactly pinpoint why I was having doubts when obviously I loved him and he just gave me a cottage in my own forest next to my own lake with my own bridge…
What’s not to love?
“Wait…I can’t do this.” I remembered.
“What is it?” His face was so sad.
“It’s just…how can we do this? Who will do our taxes? I’m married to Pat…he does our taxes.”
And just like that.
My dreams of true love in a forest cottage exchanged for a man who can do taxes.
The reality of true love.

Anybody can give a cabin in the woods, but not everyone can do the taxes…
Patty says
…the harsh reality of taxes can invade the sweetest moments.
I loved your dream. Actually, it took my mind off all the personal and corporate tax summaries I’m currently working on. The only good thing this year is that the return filing dates have been extended until May 17th, A double-edged sword, at least for me. Extra time to check, double-check, and over-analyze my paperwork.
Stay safe and…dream on!
