1. Share a back-to-school memory.
My kids are due to start school on September 8th and we are anticipating that it will be full day, no online classes. I am cautiously excited about things feeling normal again, but seeing sick numbers rise in our state has me concerned. I don’t know if the kids will ever experience a normal school year again.
I remember when back-to-school time was not fueled by talk of vaccines and viruses. Instead, we were budgeting for new school clothes, checking off supply lists, and gearing up for volleyball tryouts. I was excited to have a quiet house to myself and maybe a little dreading the early morning push out the door. I miss those days.

Kids here have already gone back, I think a week ago Monday. I think that’s way too early, even though they get out the Friday before Memorial Day; they’re still getting only two months of summer vacation, and it’s still hot here. I don’t care that the school is air-conditioned, they should get August off…

I totally agree about getting August off. We don’t finish for summer until late June, but I would prefer that over going back to school in August!

I miss those days, too! I mostly don’t like the uncertainty and my son, who is autistic, has a lot of issues with all the changes. He was fully remote last year and loved it, although he missed his friends. I hope this year is somewhat normal! PS: I’m so sorry, I had issues posting my link. I hope you’re able to remove the duplicates. Doh!
