5. Tell us about something you love to collect.
Pat and I have become avid garage sale hunters. Nearly every weekend we hop around town to find neat treasures, mainly to resell on ebay but I have been collecting items for personal use as well! My sister has been helping me redecorate my home and when I find something I love at a garage sale or an estate sale I tuck it away. She used many items from my little collections to help me transform this space:
Into this:
Although my cats have already shattered that pretty bowl.
I also love when items make me think of family and friends and will collect things they probably don’t need and stash it away for a future gift. Anything Seahawks or Sonics will be stuffed away for my sisters family, I have a Bart Simpson air freshener in my purse that I keep meaning to give to my brother, I just gifted the entire Harry Potter hardcover series to my Harry Potter loving friend, and I’m always on the hunt for gardening goodies for another friend.
There are not many things that Pat and I keep for ourselves, but he is a sucker for vintage Hawaii and I am a sucker for Pacific Northwest. I mentioned before that my step dad was a logger back in the day and I suppose that’s why when I see logging postcards I’m always sure to snag them.
Seems as though I have started a collection now and I love it!

I love that you collect things that most people wouldn’t consider as “collecting”. My collections are far less interesting, which is why I chose the reading list prompt. ;-)

Wow! We got a bunch of new people this week!
Cats will do that, destroy expensive, breakable items. Mom had a bowl from Tiffany that had been her mother’s, and when she died it went home with the brother that did *not* have a cat. I just know it wouldn’t have lasted 48 hours here…

My fatal mistake was placing the bowl near the edge of the table. I may as well have been baiting them.

That chest/sideboard is gorgeous, Kat!
Ohhhh, cats! Just as I read about your bowl, our daughter shared a video of our Granddaughter’s Elf Sphynx. climbing up onto a lampshade, knocking over and smashing the entire lamp. Dobby is hell on wheels when the mood strikes! Like most cats, he will sit near something and randomly swat it into space.
Happy that your collecting brought some wonderful results!

Hell on wheels is the perfect phrase to describe our cats. They sleep and lounge 75% of the time and then they go absolutely crazy and knock over anything in their path. I’d be annoyed if they weren’t so cute and funny. ;)
