2. Tell us something new you learned about your significant other.
My husband is eleven years older than me and there are moments it becomes really clear he’s led an entire second life before me. I learn new things about him all the time that stun me because I feel like I should probably know everything about him by now. Like that time he told me his nickname was Chicken Pat while working at a restaurant because his job was to prep the chicken.
How have we been married this long and I never knew his name was Chicken Pat? Or that he had a job that entailed prepping chicken? Or that he could do anything in the kitchen AT ALL?
Or that time he told me about how he and his old girlfriend had matching pink shirts with each other’s names monogrammed on them. Say what?
Today I showed him these premade Kahlua White Russians I picked up and was all, “don’t these look good!?!” and he was all, “Yeah I almost had one last night. That used to be my bowling drink.”
His BOWLING DRINK?
This man used to bowl? And bowl often enough to have his own specialized drink? And instead of drinking beer as one might assume most bowlers are ordering pitchers to share…he was getting White Russians?
“…that and those green olives with the pimento inside. That was my thing.”
Chicken Pat drinks White Russians with a side of pimento olives when he bowls. It’s his thing.
His previous life is delightful, I’m looking forward to the next segment!
Now it’s your turn!

This is so cool! Almost makes me wish i had had enough time as a single person to have had a previous life. (Actually, no, I would have been a total wreck and a complete hermit.)

I’ve heard of skeletons in the closet, but hoo boy!

Men just love to come up with “what I did before you” things, at times.
I’m really good at remembering such comments and enjoy when my spouse shares his previous “life before me” with his buddies…and exaggerates.
Men love to do that as well.
Chicken Pat and White Russians, eh?

The stories just get more and more incredible as they get older I think. ;)
