1. Write a blog post listing 6 random facts about your relationship with your significant other.
Pat and I have been married for 19 years and dated for 5 before that.
1. Our wedding song was Sade’s By Your Side.
We went to the store. I got a toaster and Pat picked up the By Your Side single. He popped it into the cd player in the car and was all, “I really like this song” and I was all, “then it’s OURS!” And so it was.
2. I wanted to change Laina’s middle name from Kahluna to Grace the day she was born and Pat let me.
3. Pat wanted to change Kainoa’s first name from Kainoa to James the day he was born, but I wouldn’t let him.
4. Our favorite idea of a date night before kids was dinner out and late evenings at Barnes and Noble, when our kids were young it became take out and separate couches/separate computers, and now it’s spending weekends finding deals at garage sales. Is our age showing?
5. Pat does not like sarcasm. But I’m fine with that because it’s only like 90% of my personality. The other 10% exaggerates.
6. Parenting three kids can be hard at times, but we both agree we’d do it all over again if we could start again from day one.

Very sweet, Kat. And, I love the balance in yours and Pat’s personalities, especially where sarcasm is concerned.
My apologies for my contribution to the prompt this week, not for what I’ve shared but…for sharing my response to a previous prompt. Like so many others, the tragedy in Uvalde has taken my breath away and broken my heart.
I can’t stop thinking “why?”.
Mama Kat says
The tragedy in Uvalde is absolutely heartbreaking. I burst into tears every time a new detail emerges. Those poor families. And of course, we are all nonstop worried because it could happen anywhere.

You picked a great song for your wedding. Sade is one of my favorite singers.
Love your description about sarcasm…
Mama Kat says
I still love that song as much today as I did back then! Sade is awesome!
Abby says
Bottom line, in the end, the mom picks the baby names.
So is 10% of the 90% sarcasm exaggerated? Trying to do the math.
