3. Tell us about something you celebrated recently.
Last weekend we got to celebrate a huge milestone…Maile graduated! It’s crazy watching these kids grow up on my blog. When I started, she was about 4 years old. I wrote about her going to preschool, elementary school, the struggles she had along the way including a year I spent schooling her when adjusting to middle school was a little more than she could handle at the time, and another year learning remotely during the pandemic. This girl not only managed to finish school, but she did so with honors! I’m so proud of her for setting such a great example of hard work and perseverance for her siblings.
We celebrated at the ceremony and watched her receive her diploma and then we celebrated again at my Mom’s during a party we threw for her. I’m so excited for her to move into this next phase. Even though it comes with a lot more responsibility, I think she’ll love the freedom and fun that college brings. She will be playing volleyball at a local community college and who knows and we’ll see where the world takes her from there. I think I would be having a much harder time with the transition if she were immediately moving away, but for now she will commute and I will still get to see that beautiful little face every day.
Not to be outdone, Kainoa also graduated to the next level and said goodbye to middle school for good! I’m now the proud mom of high schoolers and a college kid!
Now it’s your turn!

She is beautiful! Such a big step. My oldest will be 29 this Sept. eek. Seems like yesterday we were sitting in the stands watching him graduate from high school. A big transition but it’s a good one.

Congrats to your daughter! My daughter graduated this year also and is going to community college. Which I also secretly enjoy because she’s not moving out.
