1. Write a blog post inspired by the word: new.
Twice a week I drive to my friend’s house to watch her 2-year-old while she works. It’s been a nice change of pace considering I typically don’t leave my house during the week. All of my work is done from home, all of my shopping is delivered and Laina usually has my car at school. So I’m trapped. But twice a week I keep my car and drive to my new little friend’s house and we play.
My first day watching him I realized how completely out of childcare shape I was. After a full day of chasing after him I think I drove home in complete silence and then went straight to bed. You forget how busy and chatty kids can be. Not to mention this little one loves to be read to…often the same book over and over again. And he loves wagon rides that never end. I don’t know how parents do it.
Recently my friend added a new puppy to the family and I did warn her that the puppy would terrorize her household, but she got it anyway. I envisioned a rambunctious doodle dog chewing up every toy, barking at every noise, and peeing all over the place.
I’m happy to report I was totally wrong…so far. I’ve never met a 4-month-old puppy as chill as this puppy. When you pet him he rests his whole head in your hands, he sleeps a ton, he’s potty trained and he loves long wagon rides too. So I get out of the house and I get to play with these tiny creatures and it’s a win/win. We all wear each other out.

My brother has a 3-year-old granddaughter that wears him out, but he’s a little older than you. I’m sure your friend appreciates all the help with her little one. And that dog is really cute!
