1. Tell us about a change you made because of the pandemic that has stuck with you still.
I used to shop in stores. Target is about 7 minutes away from my house and I used to pop over for a purchase and would end up with way more than I intended. I also went to the grocery store once a week…I wrote a list and walked the aisle and filled my cart. I also used to pop into Nordstrom for new shoes or a nice little number to give my closet an update. When the pandemic shut everything down I found that I really thrive in the online shopping industry. Sure I could go into Target and pick out home decor for myself…or I could save myself that hour long errand and order something online. Why would I ever leave?
I had to go to Nordstrom the other day to return a pair of shoes I bought Kainoa for Christmas. Normally I would mail them back but I lost the box and I wanted to make sure they would still accept the shoes. Walking into that store felt like I was traveling through time. Back in the day I knew just where my sections were. I would take an armful of clothes to the dressing room with me and try all the things on. It was my idea of a child free “me time” getaway. Who was I back then? Nowadays my clothing selection is a rotation between 5 favorite hoodies and leggings. Going into stores is avoided if I am able to place an order online.
Did the pandemic change me or am I just getting old? Whatever the cause, this lifestyle is definitely saving me a lot of time and money.

Absolutely no, Kat!
The dynamics of that politically-instrumented “pandemic” managed to impact everyone. To this very day, I still see people driving with their masks on….alone in their cars.
We ran for cover, with one eye always looking over our shoulder, as the quality of the lives we’d come to know….diminished, day by day. Businesses everywhere suffered as we all sat at home and Amazoned ourselves into oblivion. Sadly, that has become the new “normal”. Maybe, in some ways, it’s forced us to economize, not spending time and gas, hitting one store after another but that’s kind of a double-edged sword. Maybe, just maybe, we’ve all gotten a bit lazy.
John Holton says
We live five minutes or less away from two grocery stores, several restaurants (fast food and other), Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and Lord knows what else, and neither of us leaves the house. DoorDash, Instacart, and Amazon get loads of business from Chez Holton…
