We are READY for this warmer weather! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and fresh fruit and veggies are ripe and ready to be devoured. Today I’m sharing an Island Smoothie recipe sponsored by Danone to the delight of every taste bud in our household.
Fun fact, I haven’t shared with you yet, but this year my husband took first place in Washington State, top 10 in the Western Coast Division and top 100 in the world in his age bracket/division in the 2018 CrossFit Open!!
Do you know what this means? It means we are very proud of him, but it also means he has been leading our home in smoothie making for about a year now. If it’s green and leafy, berry looking or vegetable-ish…he will blend it.
Much to the joy of my three little babes, I am frequently visiting Target to stock our refrigerator with Silk UnsweetenedAlmondmilk, any and every flavor of So Delicious Dairy Free Yogurt Alternative, and of course plenty of fruit and vegetables. (I also dip into the So Delicious Dairy Free Frozen Dessert, but I don’t share).
With ingredients like these on hand it is so easy to incorporate plantbased goodness into our diets.
Recently, we made a delicious Island Smoothie chock full of strawberries, bananas, raspberries, pineapples, chia seeds, Silk UnsweetenedAlmondmilk, So Delicious Dairy Free Yogurt Alternative and crushed ice. We could have added honey or agave to sweeten it up even more, but I thought all of those berries did their job just fine and I think the girls did too.
Island Joy Smoothie
1/2 Cup Silk Unsweetened Almondmilk
1/2 Cup So Delicious Dairy Free Yogurt Alternative
1/2 Cup Pineapple Chunks
1/2 Cup Banana Slices
1/2 Cup Strawberries
1/2 Cup Raspberries
1 TB Chia Seeds
Directions:
Add all of the ingredients to your blender and blend!
Kid Friendly Tip
Pre-measure your ingredients and let your kids dump it all in themselves. They have so much fun making their own smoothies and in doing so you have provided them with a wonderful sensory activity!

I’d add a couple of ice cube to make it cold. Yum!
