1. New Year Resolution check-in! It’s been six months, how are your resolutions coming along?
I’m excited to check in on my New Year Resolution goals because #1 I forgot what they were and #2 with six months left in the year I think I still have time to accomplish them. Whatever they are.
After taking a peek at my New Year blog post from last January, I see that my objectives were to:
Read 21 books in 2021. I track my book reading progress on Goodreads and have so far read 8 books. Goodreads says I’m 2 books behind schedule. Guess I’ll need to pick up a few short ones to get back on track!
My next goals aren’t even fair goals because they are completely out of my control. I wanted my Covid long-hauler niece to make a full recovery and she’s still struggling. I can’t fix her. I can leave frappuccinos at her doorstep, but they don’t fix her. I also said I didn’t want anyone else in my family to contract covid. Again, totally out of my control so I would like to formally remove it from my resolution requests. If they get covid, I promise to bring them frappuccinos.
My last goal was to feel normal again in terms of the pandemic. I hope we’re heading in the right direction for that. Some days do feel normal with my girls going to volleyball practice and the removal of the mask mandate in our state. But then you hear that variants are causing an uprise and I do worry that the whole shut down will start all over again. I look forward to forgetting covid ever existed.
Until then…I’ve got some reading to do!
Now it’s your turn!

John Holton says
13 books in six months isn’t too hard to do. You’ll make it!
As for your other resolutions, the longer this whole Covid-19 thing goes on, the more I’m convinced it isn’t as big a deal as we’ve been led to believe.
