Last week Laina had her teeth knocked out.
Well just one tooth to be precise.
Kainoa bumped his head into her mouth and loosened her front tooth and then a friend on the school bus bumped her head into Laina’s mouth in a similar fashion, causing the tooth to fall out.
There was a bit of commotion and a whole lot of blood. Laina screamed and cried and her poor bus driver pulled Maile to the front of the bus as a comfort to her screaming sister and then ignored the bus route and drove the girls directly to my front door, “She’s such a soft spoken little thing I knew I just had to bring her straight home!”
Mmmhmm…I’m sure it had nothing to do with getting the screaming child off the bus as soon as possible.
Regardless, It was really sweet.
Laina felt another wiggly tooth last night and in all her six year old logic said, “And if Kainoa bumps it and then someone else bumps it, it will fall right out!”
Sounds like she’s pretty married to the plan of having other people knock her teeth out of her mouth.
And then Maile piped in, “NO! Don’t do that! Because then the bus driver will make me sit next your bloody face.”
Sisterly love at it’s finest. I love these girls.

Perfect – kid logic in awesome! The second a tooth even THINKS about being loose over here, my middle daughter will wiggle wiggle wiggle it until it’s out. No joke – she pulled out two last week.

I’m thinking the knock out is so much better than that horrible string on the doorknob nonsense my parents subjected us to.

I seriously needed Kainoa and the random bus kid at my house a couple of years ago. My then six year old got “Shark teeth” – where the new tooth comes in behind the old one – because she wouldn’t pull the teeth. Now, in contrast, she rips them out of her mouth way too soon and even managed to loosen a permanent one before her dentist put a stop to it by threatening her place on his ‘no cavity’ wall.

My eldest lost three teeth last month. Playing “Angry Birds” tag with her sister (aiming stuffed Angry Bird toys at each others faces) works well. ;)

The sisterly love cracked me up! Great giggle to start the day!

I hope that’s the way my kids’ teeth go–the thought of having to pull teeth makes me squeamish. :)
And as far as sisterly love, at least your daughter didn’t like the idea of sitting next to her sister’s bloody face, and not just her sister!

Can we discuss how Sage’s tooth hung literally by a thread for over a week, despite us telling her we’d yank it out for her. The tooth started turning black (I KNOW) and we offered her $5 if she pulled it out. Three seconds later, she was handing it to us.

Ah love…Sibling love to be exact…nothing like it…I love it what a great way to start the day!

When I was a kid I had my dad yank out a tooth with a pair of pliers. It was already loose, but not quite ready to come out. However, we had just finished a vacation in Yellowstone National Park and we were on our way out of the park. I was determined to lose a tooth in Yellowstone, so I dug deep, found some courage, and had him tear that sucker out! Now I wonder what the hell I was thinking… and what the hell he was thinking!

6yos are brilliant!
I lost my first tooth eating a McChicken and I’m pretty sure for a month I thought McDonald’s would make all my baby teeth fall out. Thankfully, my mom disagreed.

LOL. That’s a great, great story!

LOL they are too funny! Looks like the tooth fairy is going to be shelling out some dough this week :)

Hayden had to have his bottom 2 teeth pulled b/c the adult teeth were coming in behind the baby ones so now he thinks that the Dentist should just pull out all of his teeth.
I am not really into that plan since all those teeth at once are going to make me go broke.
Pamtastic says
Well? Who really *does* want to sit next to a bloody face??? :)

Or you could be like my creepy mom and sneak in my bedroom at night and pull them out while I was sleeping.
I won’t lie though, I was a total vagina when it came to getting my teeth pulled. My mom did what she had to do.
She’s a saint.
Jennifer says
That was very sweet of the bus driver. I’m sure they hear so much screaming that hers was just a drop in the bucket.

At least it was a baby tooth. I got a call a few weeks ago from the nurse at my son’s school informing there had been an incident on the playground that involved my son, his friend and “touch” football. It resulted in a loose baby tooth but worse a loose permanent tooth!! I was a bit freaked but the dentist reassured me it would tighten back up as long as we took it safe, so needless to say I was cutting a lot of food up for him for about 2wks & sure enough it tightened back up
