5. Write a blog post inspired by the word: celebrate.
Laina got her license a little bit ago and when I expressed irritation at the amount of driving she was doing in the first 24 hours she yelled, “I’ve been trapped in this house for 16 years!! LET ME GO!!”
I said, “Laina you’re not Rapunzel. My car, my rules.”
The trouble I’ve run into with teenagers is that because I am not very strict, they really don’t appreciate it when I actually put my foot down about something. It’s not that I can’t be strict it’s just for the most part they don’t require it. Until they do. If Laina’s hungry and tired to boot, I would advise you not even approach her without a burger in your hand. She will not back down from an argument to make things go her way. I suppose that persistence will serve her well if she ever finds herself in court.
That being said, when she is fed and rested and I’m not telling her no? Laina is my little bestie. She’s always got inside scoop for me. She defends me when I’m getting picked on by other family members and she shares my love for fostering animals. She’s always been my lovable, huggable little cutie.
And since today is her birthday she has officially been trapped in this house for 17 years!! Here’s to 17 more. I’ll never let her go.
Happy Birthday Laina!
